Birds can be troublesome and the biggest problem especially if you have crops like grapes, cherries and the likes. They like these fruits for foods because of its sweet taste. Your vineyard can actually lost all its fruits before they are even ripe. Fighting them is tiring especially if your methods never work at all. It is not that we don’t want to share them some; we just hope they won’t eat all.
There have been many suggested solutions to answer this bird problem. One of them is using visual and noise-scaring devices, which can make the birds keep out of the crops in the vineyard. The sound they hear makes them scare which is why they keep away from the crop. But this solution oftentimes does not last long because birds can get use to the sound, which lessens its affectivity.
The best solution to this bird problem is vineyard bird netting. Bird netting can be costly but is nothing compared to the cost you will be losing if you continue to allow birds eat your crops. Bird netting should be plan ahead to have nice result; don’t place it after the birds have eaten all your crops. Choose a bird net that is made of good quality material, such as the galvanized bird – netting because it last longer and does not sag. You have to install it properly above the crop to ensure that crops are well protected from hungry birds.
