Many people know for a fact that many exotic pets sold at pet store were caught from the forest. But this is not good, since many exotic animals especially reptiles caught in the forest  oftentime do not survive the travel, and if ever it survive, will sooner get sick and die even when bought by a great pet lover. This is the reason why they say that reptiles are hard to keep as pets. Getting an animal from the forest to be sold has a great impact on wildlife environment, especially if the caught species are near to extinction that is why there are laws against buying some kind of exotic animals specially reptiles. Due to this existing laws, breeding reptiles has come up, which do not harm the wildlife balance. 

When looking for a reptile at a reptile pet store choose those which are captive born and breed (c.b.b) or buy at a reptile pet store that sells c.b.b animals. A reptile that is not breed and directly sold threatens its population, while if it is breed and then sold never threatens the reptile population.  Reptile breeding as you see, has great difference with dogs and cats breeding, since dogs and cats has overpopulation there is no need to breed but only to adopt. Some reptile pet lovers do not know that they have to buy c.b.b reptile, they do not care where the reptile came as long as they have one. C.b.b reptiles are quite expensive in price but they are actually healthier because they were well taken care of. So if you are planning to buy a pet reptile, look for reptile pet store that sells c.b.b animals, you just don’t know how great you are helping the reptile species plus you get to enjoy a healthy pet reptile.
